 From Africa - Harder than Oak with 30% Less Movement in Surface

This species is another of the world's most extraordinary hardwoods. Its rich, lustrous, and variable reddish-brown color give it a mahogany-like appearance. However unlike most mahoganies, Sapele has substantially less movement in service.

Mark Malbon's  beautiful dreadnought guitar. Bearclaw sitka spruce top with gold MOP inlay. Back and side are Wavy Sapele. Curly maple and ebony bindings.
